New collaboration launches in time for Diwali, making cross-border remittances faster, simpler and more affordable.

Singapore, 15 October 2025 – Liquid Group, a Singapore-based fintech company specialising in cross-border payment solutions, has partnered with Google Pay in Singapore to enable instant and cost-effective remittances to India through the PayNow–UPI linkage - a corridor that already facilitates over US$1 billion in annual remittance flows between the two countries.

With this partnership, users can now find a dedicated India Transfers option within the Google Pay Singapore app’s Explore section. Once selected, users are seamlessly redirected to LiquidPay to complete their transfer, powered by the PayNow–UPI corridor for secure, real-time fund transfers between Singapore and India.

Launched in time for Diwali, the new service allows Indian workers and families in Singapore to send money home instantly and at lower cost. To celebrate, users will enjoy a special one-month promotion of no fixed fees when sending money to India. The promotion runs from 15 October to 15 November*, making it easier to share festive blessings across borders.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Secure, real-time transfers through PayNow–UPI
  • Simple UPI ID entry – no bank account numbers needed
  • Daily transfer limit up to S$1,000
  • No fixed fees during the Diwali launch promotion

How It Works

  1. Open Google Pay and tap “India Transfers” under Explore.
  2. Get redirected to LiquidPay and sign up/log in.
  3. Enter the recipient’s UPI ID in India.
Note: The recipient must have “International Transfers” enabled in their UPI app in India.
  4. Enter the amount in SGD – see fees and INR conversion upfront.
  5. Confirm and send instantly.

About the PayNow–UPI Linkage

The PayNow–UPI linkage is a milestone initiative jointly developed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), both countries’ payment system operators, payment scheme owners, and participating banks and non-bank financial institutions.

This real-time payment connection enables users in both countries to send and receive money instantly — without intermediaries or high remittance fees. It also supports India’s G20 priorities to improve the cost, speed, access, and transparency of international transfers.

Through Liquid Group’s participation in the linkage, Google Pay Singapore users gain access to a licensed, regulated remittance service while enjoying the convenience of their everyday app.

Jeremy Tan, CEO, Liquid Group:

Our collaboration with Google Pay represents a significant milestone in advancing simpler, faster, and more inclusive cross-border remittances. The integration of the PayNow–UPI corridor into the Google Pay experience enhances convenience and affordability for users in Singapore, strengthening their ability to remain connected with loved ones in India.
